Message past: Just because you installed it on your car and it seems to work fine doesn't make for a good product design. And this is not bashing people for thinking outside the box either - so no hate mail please.

Here's some questions one should ask themselves when considering developing something new for our cars:

What is the intended purpose of the product?
Is it supposed to fix/improve a known deficiency?
What has been done to fully test the durability of the product?
What is the design integrity of the product?
Will it stand up to temp extremes?
Will it stand up to XX,XXX miles of daily driving (or track events, or whatever)?
What are the before and after results of using this design (in the example of this oil cooler: what are the flow rate differences? what are the temp differences?, etc...)
How will the product work if it's compromised (in this example - what would happen if there's a blockage, or what if there's a failure at one of the connections?)?
Will it lead the owner of the car to resort to walk home mode?

And on, and on....

We're very fortunate that Nissan engineers gave us plenty of headroom with regard to certain aspects of the powertrain design. But this doesn't mean we should slap on something and then begin to market it to others without some verifiable R&D being applied beforehand.

That's my $0.02.

I'm not bashing on the idea, I'm just trying to point out some things that need to be considered when taking on such a venture. Especially when it deals with key elements of engine longevity.
